If it has been forever since you assumed that beefsteak includes only beef and omelets, then today, MOINK20 is going to add a new, extraordinary definition to it: Bò né (dodging beef). A beautiful summer evening in Sai Gon, Vietnam. MOINK20 came to “Bò né quanh lửa hồng”, after numerous times passing it, and witnessing hundreds of people, who were waiting for their “bò né” to be served.

7 p.m, and you can barely find a seat here Stepping inside, we instantly felt the unique atmosphere of a “bò né” eatery, with greasy pathways, chairs and tables, along with the energetic, non-stop-working atitude of the staff.
The cooking stall is always full of capacity.

Despite the crowded customers, MOINK20 didn’t have to wait so long for the menu. And in contrary to my assumption, the servings here are quite diversed, with the price ranges from 20.000 VND-80.000 VND/serving.

The biggest pros of this eatery is the speed, even though the place is always crowded. In about 10 minutes, its signature – the “Bò né quanh lửa hồng” (Beef over red flame) – was on my table.

“Bò né quanh lửa hồng”: Hot and ready!

To be honest, how Vietnamese cooks vary the dishes never stops making me surprise. From an ordinary beefsteak, they seem to make it much more elegant, with pate, cheese, nem (a Vietnamese traditional pork rolls), ham, and fish.

However, that was not all.

The reason why this eatery calls themselves “Bò né quanh lửa hồng” lays on this: A bowl full of raw beef and melting butter, on a small flame.

The melting butter smells wonderful!

After the beef is cooked, take it out, and don’t forget to add the butter sauce on it!

Now, the “Bò né quanh lửa hồng” is ready to be served. With the hot oil sparkling all over the place, you can imagine how the customers have to “dodge” away from it. That’s why this dish is called “bò né” (dodging beef).

Everything about it is simply perfect…
…which, will certainly give you a mania.

To my belief, “bò né quanh lửa hồng” can surely please even the toughest customers, from its excellent taste, the reasonable price, to the staff’s professional attitude.
