This beautiful, sunny Sunday at Lappeenranta has been filled up with joy, as a winter event for families took place at Lappeenranta Harbor.

Every year, many activities occur during the traditional Shrove Sunday (Laskiainen). This year, the Student union of Lappeenranta University of Technology (LTKY) organized winter event at the harbor.
After the long, dark winter, nothing will be better than taking your kids outside, breathing the fresh air of spring, and to have fun
“When making this event, our goal is to create a safe, fun, and memorable playground for the children, thus endorsing their enthusiasm” – a LTKY-er explained.
Thought the weather was pretty cold – about -10 degrees, there was luckily no wind and very sunny, so babies could keep warm and active
There was a wide range of activities that children could try at the event, like sledging…
Swinging on the frozen lake…
…Or snowboarding down the hill. They were specially designed to ensure safety
The event took place from 10-14 o’clock, so what if the babies and their parents got hungry? Don’t worry, LTKY had prepared sausages and free drinks for everybody!
Also, the nice lady in this vendor was happy to fill your hungry bellies with Vety and Atomi…
…Which, to my belief, is one of the most delicious foods I’ve ever tasted
“For us, this event is a reasonable and fun, as we can spending taking our children out, enjoy the sun, and get ready for work on next Monday” – Said a local Finnish family.
